Day 01
 
AIRPORT / NEGOMBO……………………………

Welcome & assistance at the Airport on arrival. Transfer to Hotel situated in the famous fishing village – Negombo, a booming beach resort for tourism…….. Rest of the day at leisure in the white sands of the beaches in Negombo.

Day 02
 
NEGOMBO / ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE – PINNAWELA / SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS – SIGIRIYA / HABARANA [SIGIRIYA] ………………………
Overnight - HABARANA / SIGIRIYA  
 
After breakfast proceed to Habarana via Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela. There you can see the bottle feeding of baby Elephants. See them at play. Accompany them to a river close by to see them having their daily bath. On conclusion proceed to Habarana.

Check-in at hotel. Lunch. Leisure.

Late afternoon climb the 5th century A.D Rock Fortress. See the mural paintings of “Heavenly Maidens" over 1500 years old, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock. Historians say originally there were close to 500 paintings but today only 19 exist. Also visit the water and rock gardens and the King's bath on the 600 feet high palace fortress. You would also see the famous Sigiriya Graffiti which dates back to the 6th Century.

Day 03
 
HABARANA / POLONNARUWA / HABARANA [SIGIRIYA]……………………………….
Overnight - HABARANA / SIGIRIYA  
 
After breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa, the “Medieval” Capital of Sri Lanka in the 11th and 12th centuries AD. Taking inspiration from their Hindu conquerors, the resurgent Sinhalese Kings moved to this city, triggering an amazing artistic renaissance.

Sightseeing in Polonnaruwa - Visit "Galvihara" which consist of three splendid statues of Lord Buddha in the upright, recumbent and sedentary posture carved out of one single rock.

Also visit the remains of “Satmahal Prasada” [7-storied palace], “Thuparamaya”, “Vatadage”, “Kirivehera”, “Lankathilaka Temple”, “Galpotha”, and many other ruins of interest.

Lunch at Polonnaruwa.
 
On conclusion return to Habarana / Sigiriya for Dinner & Overnight stay……………
 
 
 
Day 04
 
HABARANA / ROCK CAVE TEMPLES - DAMBULLA / BATIK FACTORY & SPICE GARDEN - MATALE / ROCK CAVE MONASTERY “ALUVIHARE” – MATALE / KANDY…………….
Overnight - KANDY  
 
After breakfast proceed to Dambulla and visit the famous Rock Cave Temples, the most visited monastery. It is the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka, with five caves under a vast over hanging rock, carved with a drip line to keep the interiors dry. There are images of the Buddha, and Gods and Goddesses. There are innumerable painted sculptures, including a life size effigy of the last Kandyan king and much older statues of Hindu gods.

Thereafter proceed to Kandy. En route visit a Batik Factory and a Spice Garden at Matale. Here you would be shown the different varieties of spices grown and demonstration of their use.

Visit monastery of “Aluvihara”, occupying a number of caves in a picturesque valley in Matale. It was in these caves that the Buddhist doctrines were first committed to paper – or rather “Ola” leaf – in the 1st Century BC.

Continue to Kandy. Check-in at hotel. Lunch.

Afternoon tour the City of Kandy including visits to the Art and Crafts Centre, Gem Museum and Lapidary and the world famous Temple of The Sacred Tooth Relic Of Lord Buddha.

Evening view a “Kandyan Folkloric Dance” performance. [Cultural show].

Day 05
 
KANDY / ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS - PERADENIYA / RAMBODA WATER FALLS – RAMBODA / NUWARA ELIYA SIGHTSEEING / NUWARA ELIYA …………………….
Overnight - NUWARA ELIYA  
 
After breakfast visit the Century old Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, with its amazing verities of trees, plants and flowers. Reputed to be one of the best in the world with its hundreds of verities of Roses and Orchids.

Thereafter depart to Nuwara-Eliya. The journey will take you through some of Sri Lanka's beautiful scenic locations. Enjoy the drive through green carpeted areas of tea plantations. Nuwara-Eliya nestling below Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka’s highest mountain, offers beauty unlimited.

En route make a stop at Ramboda to view the beautiful “Ramboda Falls”. Lunch at Ramboda Falls Hotel.

Arrive in Nuwara Eliya. Check – in at Hotel.

Late afternoon sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya - famously known as “Little England in the Hills”…….. the salubrious climate and the breath taking landscape are a soothing balm………… as Sir Edward Barnes discovered when he was governing the island in 1828, and used it as his up-country retreat.

Day 06
 
NUWARA ELIYA / BUDURUWAGALA / YALA NATIONAL PARK…………………

After breakfast proceed to Yala.

En route visit one of the most astonishing feats of Sri Lanka sculpture, a 51 foot tall Buddha statue carved into the massive Buduruvagala Rock. This image of the Buddha, the tallest of such in Island is the dominant central figure in a group of seven giant stone statues sculpted into the rock face, standing serenely amidst the silent jungle.

Arrive in Yala. Check-in at hotel. Lunch.

Thereafter visit the Yala National Park, wild life sanctuary host to herds of wild Elephant territory on 4 x 4 jeep guided by experienced and professional tracker to watch the magnificent lords of the jungle in their natural habitats. An abundance of Flora & Fauna, over a 100 species tropical & migratory birds and a wide variety of fragile Butterflies could be seen. Look for Elephants, Wild Bears, Leopards, Jackals, Somber, Bears, Deer, Peacocks, or the Sleepy Crocodiles……

YALA / STILT FISHERMEN - WELIGAMA / SOUTHERN FORTRESS CITY - GALLE ……………….

After breakfast proceed to Galle. En route visit “Stilt Fishermen” at Weligama.

Arrive in Galle. Visit “The Fortress City Of Galle” - its oldest Landmark, the Massive Portuguese and Dutch Fort in which the central city is contained. Several important churches are within the fort, including the “Groote Kerk”, the oldest Protestant church in Sri Lanka, which was raised in 1853.

Thereafter proceed to the beautiful beach resort in the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka. Check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast proceed to the famous and beautiful beach resort in the periphery of Colombo…….. Mount Lavinia. En route make a stop in coastal town of Ambalangoda which is famous for Fine Furniture & Devil - Dancing Masks. Visit a factory / workshop to see the manufacturing process. Most crafts have interesting histories behind them, but none as gripping as the expressive devil masks which are traditionally use in place of medicine to scare away disease. Visit a “Turtle Hatchery” at Kosgoda. Arrive in Mount Lavinia. Check-in at hotel. Lunch. Afternoon visit “The Capital” of Sri Lanka – Colombo. Visit “Fort”, the commercial capital, “Pettah” bazaar area, Old Parliament complex, “ Gangaramaya” Temple which is situated in the middle of the Beira lake, Independence Square, Bandaranayake International Memorial Conference Hall and the New Parliament Complex and Administrative Capital at “Sri Jayawardhenapura” which is surrounded by the waters of Lake “Diyawanna Oya”. Later time at your disposal for shopping etc,. Visit the famous shopping arcades like “ The Majestic City “, “ Liberty Plaza “, “ House Of Fashions “ & “Odel” at Lipton Circus.
